Label Text:
From 1932 to 1934, Fujimori created a series of twelve prints of Tokyo, one for each month of the year. In each, he portrayed meisho of the new city. For December, he portrayed the Haneda Airport Office, which was designed in a late Bauhaus style by Ishimoto Kikuji, the first Japanese architect to study with Walter Gropius. Haneda, the first commercial airport for Tokyo, was located at the southern edge of the city. It opened in 1931, and its office was completed in 1932.
