Description:
A peasant woman sits on a beach, barefoot and turned away from the viewer. Her proper left hand drags across the sand in a fist. She wears traditional dress, a handkerchief on her head, and a basket on her back for gathering agricultural products. She may be a farm laborer. Her expression is somber and thoughtful as she looks at the sea.
