Description:
One of a pair of fan-back Windsor armchairs, originally painted red and have been refinished. These high-backed armchairs are the earliest types of Windsors and were made in New England. One of the pair is branded underneath the seat: "R. Newton." The chair is supported on turned, splayed legs and H-configuration stretchers.
