Description:
Man's double-brested waistcoat of red silk velvet which is square shaped, with low cut armscyes and cut straight across the front and back, and a stiffened roll/shawl collar. The garment can be fastened from either side by two rows of ten oval shaped mother-of-pearl buttons, with one row on each side of front closure. There is a hip level welt pocket on each side of garment. The back is a matching red plain weave silk. Two pairs of linen ties at the center back bottom help to fit waistcoat. The inside bodice sides are lined with the matching plain weave silk; the inside back lined with tan colored linen.
