Description:
Baby's cap of blue silk brocade trimmed with galoon, silk ribbon, metallic woven trim, and lined with linen. Made to fit the head closely, the cap is cut in three sections, with the central one extending from the forehead to the neck. This cap is heavily decorated with 3 triangular sections of silk floral patterned brocade separated by two sections of pink silk rep covered with woven silver braid in the center and silver scalloping cord along both edges. The front and back edges are treated in the same way. The silk brocade has a blue background with bright pink flowers, green leaves and some metallic cross threads. A pink bow is placed at the center back, and the same ribboon ties the cap at the chin (8.25x1.75", bow is 3.25" across). The lining is a peculiar fabric woven in stripes of pink with brown and white linen cord woven in at regular intervals in chevron shapes that zig-zag.
