Description:
Pair of women's knitted cotton stockings. A fancy, open weave decorates the front ankle and calf portion of each stocking, where it would have been visible, to mesh with the period's fashion for low slippers and elevated hemlines. Each stocking has a center back seam that is angled or spiralling. One of the stockings is marked (using the open weave technique) with possibly a size "36"?
