Label Text:
Designed and carved for use during divination, this opon tray features border decoration inspired by animal forms and patterns. The most important image, however, is the face of Orisa Eshu, guardian of the ritual way, which appears at top. At the beginning of a divination session, the diviner draws a crossroads pattern on the surface as a sign that it is a meeting place of human concerns and spiritual powers.
