The letter was sent to George Bellows at the East 19th Street, New York City Etats Unis by Waldo Peirce. Sometime on or after 1914, Peirce joined the American Field Service, a volunteer ambulance corps that served the French battlefields. This postcard has was mailed on January 17, 1916.
