Description:
Coral colored silk tea or dressing gown, worn for deshabille or informal, at-home attire. Buttons down front, has tiered puffed sleeves, long ruffles over hand and two rows of ruffles on bottom. The back and front yokes of the gown are covered with lace ruffles with a standing collar with a ruffle above it. All ruffles are edged with gathered ecru colored lace. Lace is baud embroidered. "Needle run" stitching on a machine made reseau.(net). Same lace insertion between sleeve ruffles and a 4" flounce of same lace on bottom of gown and sleeves. Gown is lined with wool crepe and buttons down front with covered buttons. Gown has been severely damaged on left side of front and mended with silk organza threads. Overlays of polyester chiffon were attached to help support bottom ruffles on gown
