Description:
Silver spoon with a large, fig-shaped bowl with a reeded rat-tail and dognose or wavy-end handle, which is marked "WK / B" in heart-shaped punch once on back of handle for Benjamin Wynkoop (1675-1751) of New York City, and engraved with the initials "T / I C" on the back of the handle. Wynkoop married Femmetjie Van de Heus in 1697, and was made a freeman of New York City in 1698. He lived in the city's South Ward where he was also active in civic and church affairs.
