Description:
J-453. Illustration of the proverbial saying 'A pony from a gourd,' ie, an unexpected windfall or amazign coincidence. The elderly gentleman is probably Choka. The Chinese Taoist wizard, Chong Kwoh, who possessed a horse that could carry him thousands of miles at a time and required no fodder. When not in use, the pony was kept in the gourd the wizard wore attached to his waist.
