Description:
ca. late 19th or early 20th century plaster cast of a marble original dating to the Archaic Period, ca. 525 BCE. This cast is of the left half of the east frieze from the Siphnian Treasury at Delphi depicting the council of the gods. Five seated figures are depicted, four of them in full and one, to the far right, in part. From left, these figures are identified as Ares, who holds a shield, Aphrodite, Artemis, Apollo, and Zeus. The original relief after which this cast is made is located at the Delphi Archaeological Museum in Delphi, Greece.
