Description:
English pearlware round plate that is part of an eighteen-piece dinner service. The plate has a molded and scalloped shell-edge rim painted green; and painted green to purple sprigs around the well. Many examples of green shell-edge dinnerware, a type of ceramic that was often made for export to America, have been found in archaelogical excavations in Deerfield. These pieces are typical of the type of dinnerwares used by Deerfield residents in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
