Description:
Maple bedstead with tester found in Connecticut and owned by the Wyllys and Talcott families of Hartford. The bedstead is mahoganized in red and brown with traces of gilding in the flutes of the front posts; the front legs are square; and side rails are original. The pine headboard was raised up about a foot from its original position. A "Family Genealogical Record" (62.182.1) has detailed information on these families.
