Description:
Rectangular wooden sewing box with banded inlay around the hinged top; the interior painted light green; and an interior tray divided into 8 short and 4 long compartments, which contain old spools, lanbs wool, wooden thimble, etc. There is an oval print of a mythological scene pasted in the center of the lid depicting Mercury, the messenger of the gods, the son of Zeus and Maia, a Nymph of Mount Cyllene in Arcadia.
