Description:
Edith Cavell, a British nurse who served with the Red Cross in German-ocuupied Belgium, dressed in white, is descending a staircase to her demise. She was arrested (August 1915) for assisting in the escape of Allied prisoners and executed by a firing squad in Ocober 1915.
