Label Text:
Zephaniah Swift Moore graduated from Dartmouth College in 1793 and after teaching school went into the ministry. Returning to Dartmouth in 1811, he became professor of languages for four years. In 1815 he was elected president of Williams College. Moore left Williamstown in 1821 to become the first president of Amherst College.
