Prince Eugène Napoleon. Archchancellor of State of the French Empire-Viceroy of Italy and Prince of Venice - English translation.
At age 17, Eugène de Beauharnais (1781-1824), Josephine's son, became an aide de camp to his step-father Napoleon. He was later appointed prince of France, archchancellor of State, viceroy of Italy, and prince of Venice. He reigned in Milan between 1805 and 1814. His wife, Auguste-Amélie, was the daughter of the king of Bavaria, where he lived in exile after the fall of Napoleon as the duke of Leuchtenberg and prince of Eichstätt until his death in 1824.
