Description:
Each earring is composed of a round part connected to the ear-wire, and a drop-shaped pendant that hangs freely within a gold ornamental surround. The ornamental surround is decorated at the bottom with gold scroll-like shapes. In the upper part, a piece of jet is set into a gold border, and has a micromosaic of a butterfly facing right. In the lower part, a drop-shaped piece of jet has a micromosaic depicting a white bird (dove) perched on a spouting stump looking down in one case at a nest with two white eggs inside, in the other at two tiny nestlings.
