Description:
Vertical oval carved lava belt ornament (converted from a pin-brooch) with profile portrait of a woman who is most likely a bacchante. She has long wavy hair which falls over her shoulder, ornamented by grape bunches and leaves. She wears a fringed garment draped over her shoulders (probably an animal skin, as would be appropriate for a bacchante, with more grape bunches and leaves trailing over her proper right shoulder.
