Description:
Silver tablespoon with an eliptical bowland double molded drop; thick rectangular shaft tapered to upturned rounded-end handle; and long midrib on the front of the handle. The spoon is marked with a reversed barred "IB" in a rounded rectangle for Jacob Boelen II (1733-1786), and engraved with the initials "I:R" in block letters on the back of the handle. Jacob was the son of silversmith Henricus Boelen (1697-1755) and grandson of silversmith, Jacob Boelen (c.1657-1729).
