Description:
All beech tongue plane with maker's imprint of "J + CLAP" on the toe. Heavy, round chamfers. Stops step and turn out. Original parts. Steel plated fence. Uncleaned, except for the maker's imprint. No owners marks. Connecticut River Valley wedge relief. Joseph Clap, the possible maker of this plane, was born in Deerfield, MA in 1769, and died in Montague, MA in 1821.
