Description: Framed oil painting by Elizabeth Brooks Fuller (1896-1979), daughter of artist George Spencer and Mary Williams (Field) Fuller, and granddaughter of artist George Fuller of Deerfield, continued the family tradition of painting landscapes, portraits of children, and desert scenes from the Southwest. For a number of years, she spent summers in the family homestead at the Bars and winters in Tucson, and later in Oracle, Arizona. This landscape depicts Deerfield corn field in winter with snow; in the foreground are a pyramidal stack of corn stalks on the left and a pile of cut stalks on the right; in the background are more stalks of corn piled up in pyramids, and a pair of far distant trees. The scene shows a cloud covered sky and shadows on the field at sunset. The predominant colors are yellow, brown, and white. Molded wooden frame with gilding.
