Description:
Man’s cotton bucket hat. White with red and blue cotton trim above the brim. Two vent holes on either side, with purple thread. Size medium. Worn by Joseph Peter Spang III (1934-2020). 9.0” (diameter).

Label Text:
In summer Peter Spang, first curator and later Trustee of Historic Deerfield, was often seen wearing one of his iconic cotton bucket hats. He also traveled with one positioned in the rear windshield of his Buick Regal.
