Description:
Black felt hat worn by Henry N. Flynt (1893-1970) during the mid-20th century. Henry, along with his wife Helen Geier Flynt (1895-1986), founded the Heritage Foundation, later Historic Deerfield, in 1952. The label inside the crown notes the manufacturer and its various locations in France and middle/southern Europe: “Premier chapelier De Paris/ Léon (?)/ 21 Rue Daunou
21/ Paris Succursales PARIS 95 Avue des Champs Élysées Nice-Vichy-
Monte-Carlo/ Bruxelles/ Geranti Feutre Poil.” H: 5 ½”; W: 12”; D: 13 ¼”
