Description:
Formal waistcoat worn by Henry Needham Flynt (1893-1970) during the mid-20th century. Henry, along with his wife Helen Geier Flynt (1895-1986), founded the Heritage Foundation, later Historic Deerfield, in 1952. The waistcoat, which would have been worn with a formal tuxedo, is made from a red and black small-figured silk. On a label inside is stitched “HANDMADE/ S. Fisher. 22, 23 and 42 Burlington / Arcade/ hyde Park / 4180 LONDON W.” The waistcoat is adjustable from the back.
