Description:
This large map, printed on six sheets and mounted in linen, has attached rollers to allow hanging on a wall. It depicts Greenfield just prior to its annexation of Cheapside from Deerfield in May 1896. The map focuses on the city rather than the entire town of Greenfield, and shows footprints of structures with names of residents, and identifies businesses, churches, and schools. Considerable detail is provided on railroads and depots.
D.L. Miller and Co. operated in Philadelphia, and later New York City, as publishers of county atlases, fire insurance maps, and wall maps. The survey upon which this map is based was conducted by Thomas Flynn.
