Description:
Banister-back side chair with three vertical, fluted spindles on the splat between two turned stiles topped with turned finials. The replaced rush seat is supported by two turned legs in the front and two straight legs in the back, connected by two turned front stretchers, one rear stretcher, and two stretchers on each side. The entire surface is covered with black paint with parts overpainted in red with decorative motifs, probably dating the the second quarter of the nineteenth century. The lower front stretcher and proper right stretcher are both white ash.
