Narrative Inscription:  On reverse in graphite: "This mirror hung in the South Parlor of the Barnard Home in Deerfield, Massachusetts since the memory of my grandmother, Hannah Heard Barnard, and of the daughter Hannah. Family tradition says that it was bought in England very soon after the house was built, (house built about 1709 to 1712) The mirror was furst brought [to] the old house by me in 1901, when the house was sold. The orginal glass was broken in bringing it to Baltimore, and in 1903 fitted with a reproduction of the original glass exact in every detail of bevel and design. It has always been cherished as the rarest and best of our family heirlooms. Edith S. Barnard 1903"

Description:
Queen Anne looking glass with two-part beveled glass, replaced in both sections. Frame constructed from a spruce frame with walnut veneer, on a spruce backboard. Reverse inscribed with ownership history in the Barnard family in graphite.
