Souvenir of the raid on Bloody Brook consisting of a small tomahawk, printed description or advertisement, and original envelope for both. Printed on the tomahawk, in blue ink: "Souvenir of the BLOODY BROOK MASSACRE 1675, at So. Deerfield." and on reverse, in brown ink: "Made from a big ELM cut on the Bloddy Brook Battle Ground." Printed on the description or advertisement, in black ink: "The Bloody Brook Tomahawk was made from a Big Elm cut on the Bloody Brook Battle Ground at So. Deerfield, Mass. It grew on the very edge of Bloody Brook, and was cut down to make way for the cement bridge now on the spot. The very spot where the Indians are supposed to have Massacred the White Men. A Souvenir of King Philip's War. Made by Hiram J. Wood, South Deerfield, Mass." Printed on the envelope, in black ink: "BLOODY BROOK TOMAHAWK. (A SOUVENIR.) From ...... Sold at Mt. Tom. Holyoke, Mass." Envelope is 3" x 7"; tomahawk is 6.5" x 2 1/8"; advertisement is 3.75" x 6.125"
