Description:
Oval-shaped photograph with paper frame of Frank Houghton of St. Albans, Vermont. Image is of an old bearded man with head cocked to the right, black suit vest and bow tie. Houghton and his sister, Mary Houghton Sawyer (see HD 2008.31.2), were the children of Abel Houghton and Emilia Stebbins Houghton, granddaughter of Asa Stebbins of Deerfield, Massachusetts. The handwritten inscription on back reads: "My great Uncle Frank Houghton / St. Albans, VT / son of Emilia Stebbins and Abel Houghton/ grandson of Asa Stebbins/never married." The paper frame of photograph is impressed "Fitzgerald / St. Albans, VT." in the lower left hand corner. Dimensions of photo itself: 5" x 3 1/2"
