Description:
English creamware sauceboat in the shape of a duck with the head acting as the handle and the tail as a projecting lip. The Leeds Pottery attribution is based on two block molds for duck-shaped sauceboats from the Leeds Pottery in the Temple Newsam House collection. This form is also known in a colored glaze; Historic Deerfield has a similar example (HD 60.225) decorated in Prattware colors (high temperature underglaze oxide colors).
