Description:
Blown, lead glass decanter, mallet-shaped form (circular base with tapering sides) with two sets of triple rings applied to the neck of the bottle; flat flange to the top of the decanter, interior of glass decanter's neck is ground to receive a stopper, ground glass stopper is a later replacement; excellent wear pattern to the base of the decanter as well as the sides; and there is a broken pontil mark on the base. According to provenance, owned by Israel Putnam. There is a t-shaped crack on the side of the decanter.
