Description:
This carved argillite bowl is in the shape of a raven in flight, incised with quintessential Haida patterns that feature abstracted wings and tailfeather patterns on the bowl. The lid portion (the raven's abdomen or back) depicts incised whales. The "handle" of the lid is carved to look like an abstracted whale's blow hole, and also displays an upside-down man's head.
