Label Text: These two prints [Wings of a Rustic Interior and Rural Decorations, the Mill, No. 23], when glued to stiff paper or cardboard, would have served as backdrop and wings of miniature theaters. They come from a large assortment of such rustic "decors" published by the Pellerin firm. The primitive aspect of the technique suited the images of rural life, creating a make-believe world.
