Description:
Two bands of blonde silk lace, identical in design and shape, of handmade bobbin lace. Rounded on both ends, these fine examples had a use that is now uncertain. Lace made from a natural colored silk imported into France from Nankin. A delicate soft lace suited to the closely gathered trimmings popular in the mid 18th century. One of the earliest laces to be copied on a machine.
