Description:
Wooden case, made to look like a large book. The top opens out and has a wooden prop that keeps the top open at an angle. There is a hinged mirror panel, that has a wire prop that folds down to hold it out. The lid of the box is a circular glass window with a sliding panel that opens. When it is open, it reflects what is in the bottom of the case. Label inside: "Egerton & Wm. Smith & Co., Opticians, Mathematical Instrument Makers, Chart-Sellers, Printers, and Stationers, At their Old Established Navigation Shop, No. 18 (Middle of) Pool-Lane, Liverpool."
