Frank Waugh was a Professor of Landscape Architecture at UMass’s precursor, Massachusetts Agricultural College, from 1903-39. He considered the landscape an equally, if not more, important part of the built environment than architectural structures. His innovative approach to the natural world showed a deep appreciation for nature, including its wild animals.
