Description: Small wooden box covered in canvaswork embroidery (flamestitch). The back and bottom are uncovered, and the box is joined together with small wooden pegs visible on the underside of the base. The box opens with a hinged top lid to reveal an interior lined with faded red, plain-weave woolen fabric. Iron and (later) brass nails secure the embroidery to the wood. An iron lock (key missing) would have secured small valuables in this box. The four globular feet are later replacements.
