Description:
Silver tablespoon with an elliptical bowl and a rounded drop over an eleven-lobed shell; straight rectangular shaft tapered to an upturned rounded-end handle; feathered edge around entire handle; and short midrib on back of handle. The spoon is marked "S.EMERY" in a wavy surround for Stephen Emery, and engraved with the Initials "M B" in block letters on back of handle. According to Mr. Kossack's records, this is an unusual handle since one might expect it to be downturned rather than upturned.
