At left, seated man in tricorner hat rests proper left leg on table while entertaining a young woman. At right, seated woman bends to adjust stockings, looking left. In foreground, a pile of clothing including a bodice rests on floor. In background, a woman and man holding a burning candle and a large plate stand in doorway.
