Description:
Stereographic print consisting of two nearly identical, sepia-tone photographs mounted on green card stock. Photograph depicts John Smith, the "Hermit of Erving" seated in his cave, knitting on what appear to be double-pointed needles. Four women and two men, all in summer clothing, are seated around him, a dog lying at their feet. The woman in the center (proper left of Smith) holds a stereoscope in her lap.
