Description:
Set of 6 table knive stamped "Ashton Jackson & Co. CAST STEEL" and five two-tined forks with stag horn handles. Ashton Jackson & Co was a Sheffield manufacturer, whose name was changed to the William Johnson & Co in 1852. Although two tines rarely appear on silver forks after the opening years of the 18th century, they remain common throughout the century on steel fork fitted with handles of various elements.
