Description:
All birch, non-skew fixed fence rabet plane with maker's mark of "S. [Simeon] POMEROY / N + HAMPTON" on the toe. Medium width, flat chamfers. Stops step and turn out. Cleaned and oiled. Original parts. No owners imprints. Thomas L. Elliott writes in his Guide to the Makers of American Wooden Planes (5th edition) that, "Simeon Pomeroy (b. Apr. 19, 1754 in Northampton, MA, d. 1842 in Windsor, VT) was a cabinetmaker, house joiner and plane maker, in Northampton, MA."
