Description:
Key-wound pocket watch in a circular silver case with the movement marked by the Home Watch Company of Boston and the case "A.M. Watch Co. Waltham Mass; " and stamped with the serial number, "NO. 301541" and "Patd Jan. 15, 1876" inside the case ring, and "Patent Feb. 4, 1868" on the movement dust ring; and marked "coin silver." The Home Watch Co. was a name by the American Waltham Watch Company used on less expensive watches so as not to detract from the public's impression of Waltham as a manufacturer of high grade watches.
