SKINNER CATALOGUE: A small pressed sheet brass coal oil lamp, with tin bottom. Single burner for a solid round wick, operated by a ratchet, and with an outside tube which leaves an air space around the inner wick tube and extends about 1/4 inch above it. Equipped with an extinguisher. Marked on the ratchet wheel Pat. June 23, 1863 but it does not at all correspond to either of the patents granted on that date. Marked on the bottom May 8, 1855. Bla (ckm) ans Pat. Re (issue) Mar 19, 1867. Height 3 3/4" Diam. base 3 3/16". Cat. 7/8/1935.
