Lead-glazed redware jar, thrown straight-sided jar with canted shoulders and flange at top edge, circular opening, jar is held together with a string strapped around the outside of the jar; the lid is not original to the piece, circular jar lid has round knob finial. Condition: surface of jar is covered with grime and soluable salts. There is a business card within the pot for a Northampton antiques dealer - presumably the seller, "Mrs. E. B.
