Description:
clear plexi "boxes" screwed together into an irregular rectangular shaped tower; abstract

Label Text:
"I take light, which is fleeting. I give it solid substance. I give it architecture." Louise Nevelson

In "Canada Series III," the fourth of an edition of five, Nevelson explores different issues than she does in her signature wooden box sculptures. Here, the artist turned her black boxes inside out, sculpting with light instead of shadow. In this sculpture, the glistening, supportive grid of metal fasteners forms the primary image of the work as reflected light reveals shifting lines and shapes.
