Description: This Runner kachina features a blue, red, and white striped head with a bundle of feathers on top. His square ears have "x"s painted on them. He has a carved mouth and painted eyes, with a small green yarn neckpiece that resembles Juniper or Douglas Fir. His blue and white striped body displays turqouise armbands, a black yarn bracelet, red ornaments on his elbows, and a brown cuff. A turquoise sash is seen around his waist, accompanied by a black "kilt," scabbard, buckskin leggings, woven legging wraps, and red shoes. In one hand is a pointed stick with buckskin fringe, and in the other is another accoutrement that includes fringed buckskin. Unlike many kachinas in this collection, he does not stand on a wooden platform. He may or may not have been made for the tourist trade. AP2018
