Description:
Ovoid form with spout and double scroll handle. Light blue ground with all-over leafy scroll meander in darker blue. Scrollwork banderole with the name of the drug "A.D.PAPAVERO."; below is a coat of arms in orange and yellow with a medieval tower. Chips and restored cracks.

Label Text:
This drug jar would have been part of a group made for a pharmacy belonging to a family who used the unidentified coat of arms with a tower. The label indicates that it held a medicinal solution made from the leaves or seeds of purslane (portulaca), a versatile plant used for many things including the healing of wounds or burns.
